The public numbers a Texas carrier actually uses, gathered once so you do not gather them four times.
Diesel, fuel tax, filing deadlines, penalty amounts, and cost per mile. Every figure carries its publisher, a link, and the day we pulled it. Free, no login, no email.
Five references, open right now.
Gathering these numbers is a job. Acting on them is the job we want.
Every figure on these pages is public. Finding it, checking it against the agency that published it, and knowing which week it belongs to is four hours a month you are not being paid for.
A carrier who reads this desk every Monday is doing our work for free. A carrier who calls us stops doing it entirely.
Corrections in public
A number printed wrong gets corrected on the page, with a note saying what changed. Call the number in the masthead and it is fixed the same day.
Where a figure does not exist
There is no weekly Texas diesel series and no published Texas inspection count. Those rows say so instead of guessing.
Gulf Coast diesel moved 19.3 cents. Did your surcharge?
A truck at 6.0 miles per gallon burns roughly 83 gallons on a 500 mile run. Nineteen cents a gallon is about sixteen dollars, every run, in either direction. On four runs a week that is over eight hundred dollars a quarter, moving in whichever direction you were not watching.
The diesel page works the surcharge out at your own mileage and your own base, shows the six week trend, and lists the fuel tax rate in eleven states.
Series: U.S. Energy Information Administration weekly retail on highway diesel, Gulf Coast PADD 3 and U.S. average. Week ending 17 August 2026, retrieved 25 August 2026. There is no weekly Texas diesel series, which is why the benchmark is PADD 3. Open the diesel desk.
The desk, delivered when it moves.
The diesel move, the deadlines inside the next thirty days, and the Texas figures that changed. If nothing moved, nothing arrives.
