Expedite pays for being available. Everything about the back office should protect the hours you are available.
Cargo van work is the segment where the rules are lightest and the operating discipline has to be heaviest. Rates move by the hour, the loads are small and frequent, and the entire margin depends on how fast you can see a board, price a run, and get the invoice out. Which is exactly the work that gets skipped when you are the one driving.

The office work, specific to this equipment.
| What | How we run it |
|---|---|
| Board coverage | Someone watching expedite boards and load offers during your driving hours instead of at the end of them. |
| Rate discipline | A floor per mile and per hour set with you, and a refusal to book under it when a board looks thin at four in the afternoon. |
| Repositioning | Return and next load planned before the current delivery, so the empty leg is a decision rather than a surprise. |
| Rating verification | The van rating documented and re checked whenever the equipment changes, so you know which rulebook you are actually under. |
| Same day invoicing | The proof of delivery, the photos, and the accessorials submitted the day the load closes, because a fast segment cannot afford a forty day receivable. |
| Contract and packet management | Broker packets, certificates, and carrier agreements kept current so a new customer is a phone call and not a week. |

10 percent of gross, with a $400 weekly minimum per active truck.
The minimum is what the office costs to staff. The percentage is what it costs when the office is working well. Commission is calculated on gross freight revenue including linehaul, fuel surcharge, detention, layover, and truck ordered not used. Documented pass throughs such as lumpers, tolls, and permits are excluded.
The back office runs alongside it at $1,100 a month for the company, $300 per active truck, and $100 per active driver.

Bring the van rating, the states you will cover, and the hours you are actually willing to run. We will build a floor and work the boards to it.
