Eight, ten, or twelve percent. And here is the whole bill.
Dispatch is a percentage of gross freight revenue with a weekly minimum per active truck. The back office is a flat monthly fee. Every number is on this page, including what we do not take a percentage of, and a worked example that ends in a total instead of a range.
Three tiers. Your equipment decides which one, not your negotiating.
| Tier | Commission on gross | Weekly minimum per active truck | Onboarding | Typical fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 8% | $350 | $750 | Dry van, reefer, seasoned flatbed |
| High touch | 10% | $400 | $750 | Hotshot, box truck, Sprinter, new authority |
| Complex | 12% | $500 | $750 | Oversize, high value, project freight |
What the commission is calculated on. Gross freight revenue: linehaul, fuel surcharge, detention, layover, and truck ordered not used, on loads we dispatched. We are paid on what you are actually owed, which includes every accessorial we documented and chased down for you.
What is excluded. Documented pass throughs are not in the base: lumper fees, tolls advanced, permits, escorts, and similar third party costs reimbursed to you at cost. Money that only passed through your account is not revenue, and we do not bill on it.
How the minimum works. The weekly minimum applies per active truck for any week the truck was available for dispatch. If commission earned that week is more than the minimum, you pay the commission and nothing else. The minimum is never added on top of commission. On the Standard tier a truck clears it at $4,375 of gross in the week, which is a single decent load and a reload.
Flat monthly. A slow month does not make your filings optional.
| Component | Basis | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Back office, company level | Per month | $1,100 | Books, filings, document control, monthly review |
| Per active truck | Per month | $300 | TMS tenant seat, ELD administration, maintenance file |
| Per active driver | Per month | $100 | Qualification file, testing pool, Clearinghouse, medical tracking |
| Microsoft 365 seat | Per seat, per month | $35 | Email, files, calendar on your own domain |
| Back office onboarding | One time | $4,000 | Or $350 per month across twelve months, which totals $4,200. Spreading it costs $200 more |
Active means dispatched or on duty at any point in the billing month. A truck parked for a full month is not billed at the truck rate. Managed tablets and ELD hardware are quoted separately, at cost.
One truck, one driver, $24,000 of gross freight in a month.
Standard tier at 8 percent, the back office, one Microsoft 365 seat, and onboarding spread across twelve months. Four dispatched weeks. This is the arithmetic we would walk you through on the phone, so here it is before the phone rings.
| Line | Calculation | Monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Dispatch commission | 8% of $24,000 gross | $1,920 |
| Weekly minimum check | $480 per week earned against a $350 minimum, so no top up | $0 |
| Back office, company | Flat | $1,100 |
| Active truck | 1 × $300 | $300 |
| Active driver | 1 × $100 | $100 |
| Microsoft 365 | 1 seat × $35 | $35 |
| Back office onboarding, spread | $4,200 over 12 months, or $4,000 paid once | $350 |
| Total | All of the above, first year | $3,805 |
| Total after onboarding is paid | Months 13 onward at the same volume | $3,455 |
As a share of gross
Dropping to 14.4 percent once onboarding is paid off, at the same volume.
What it replaces
A dispatcher, a bookkeeper, a compliance administrator, a TMS subscription, and a document system. Three of those are salaries. The next section prices them.
What it does not replace
Your CPA, your attorney, your insurance agent, and your own judgment on which loads to accept. Every rate still comes to you first.
Illustration using our own rates and a round revenue figure. Your gross, your accessorials, your equipment tier, and your headcount move the total. You get the real one in writing before you sign, and the agreement carries it.
Hired, the same work is three job titles.
One person to find, negotiate, and cover the loads. One to keep the books, the receipts, and the tax filings. One to own the compliance calendar and the driver files. These are the Texas mean wages for those three jobs.
| The job | SOC code | Texas annual mean wage |
|---|---|---|
| Dispatcher, except police, fire, and ambulance | 43‑5032 | $46,780 |
| Bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerk | 43‑3031 | $46,520 |
| Compliance officer | 13‑1041 | $75,490 |
| Three people, one year | $168,790 |
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2023, Texas annual mean wage: 43‑5032 dispatchers, 43‑3031 bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks, 13‑1041 compliance officers. Wages only. Payroll tax, benefits, software, and workspace are on top.
A one truck carrier does not need three people. It needs a slice of each, and nobody hires a slice of a person. So we sell the slice.
Call (817) 000‑0000How and when you are invoiced.
Three rules. You can hold us to all of them in writing.
Weekly, for dispatch
Commission is invoiced weekly against loads delivered that week. Every load, its gross, the commissionable base, and the fee are on the invoice. You can check our arithmetic in about a minute, and you should.
Monthly, for the office
Back office components are invoiced on the first business day of the month, with truck and driver counts stated. If a unit went inactive, the count changes and the invoice shows it.
Never out of your freight money
Brokers pay you directly. We never receive, hold, offset, or deduct from your freight proceeds. Our fee is a separate invoice you pay from your own account, so if it stops earning its keep, you stop paying it that week.
Changes. Tier moves, rate changes, and scope changes are made in writing, with notice, under the agreement. Nothing is applied retroactively and nothing arrives buried in an invoice. If your freight outgrows the tier you are on, you will hear it from us on a phone call before you see it on a bill.
